Poetic-Verses

'' Are Gods Just A Great Work Of Fiction ''

There are hundreds of different religions,
everyone of them make the claim,
that their God is the ultimate being,
the person who does not suffer blame.

We mock the Greeks and the Romans,
who worshipped Gods of their own,
aren't ours exactly the same as theirs,
out of our minds they have grown.

The Pagans worship Mother Nature,
the plants and the fish in the seas,
looking after the Earth is what saves us,
they've no unseen Gods to appease.

We build churches, mosques and temples,
costing millions of pounds,
worship statues of people we've never seen,
now that's what really confounds.

They claim he controls our lives on Earth,
right up to the very end,
if we obey his every written word,
to his kingdom we will ascend.

Faith is the secret that's what they preach,
you must believe in what you can't see,
you must deny the evil of Satan,
to ensure your soul is set free.

Who in Gods name is this Satan guy,
in this story where does he belong,
he's a bit like your baby brother,
it wasn't me it was him who did wrong.

An earthquake kills a million folk,
but what really waxes lyrical,
while Satan gets the blame for the dead,
the survivors are Gods great miracle.

This gives the Gods an easy option,
when our lives get really hard,
while we put all the blame on Satan,
God gets a get out of jail free card.

If we really want to face the truth,
while around us our lives crash,
religion won't  help to bail you out,
they'll ensure they keep their own cash.

How dare you show resentment to God,
you must listen to his every word,
I would if I could hear him talk,
religious teachings are utterly absurd.

Whenever you question their teachings,
blasphemy is their weapon of choice,
how dare you question the word of their God,
they'll then try to silence your voice.

While we ask the question whose God is supreme,
let's make this point crystal clear,
religious teachings are not based on fact,
they play on a human beings fear.

Which God will have the ultimate say,
will his paradise be theirs or ours,
which religion will have its day,
who'll arrive at his pivotal towers.

When we die and ascend to his heaven,
will there be any recrimination,
is it conceivable a God could be guilty of,
race or religious discrimination.

They claim God is the ultimate being,
but his concepts cause nothing but friction,
could the truth be really quite different,
