Without the slightest remorse the clock hours turned
As George Bush fiddled while the towers burned,
In shock and dismay our nation stood hand in hand
As American soldiers touched down on Arab land.
They searched about the rocks and hills of the rugged terrain
But never did find the one we'd blamed,
So with the mission all but aborted their bags were packed
For a new war had been declared on the sands of Iraq.
We'd found our man, a new someone to blame
An old friend turned foe by the name of Sadaam Hussein,
'Dubya' vowed revenge and to bring the "Axis of Evil" to its knees
And looked us square in the face and lied about those WMD's.
Now after trillions of dollars spent, over a million lives lost
and even with Sadaam dead and gone;
There still have been no weapons found and our troops haven't returned home.
And to top it all off they've come up with an even brighter plan,
to downsize the Iraq invasion and march back into Afghanistan.
Denying the futility of this mission, our political leaders continue to promise victory but obviously their minds have parted;
to think that we can finish what the Russians started.
History tells us this mission is impossible and that it will lead to certain disgrace;
Just think if we could undo what landed us between Iraq and a hard place.
