Adhering to His Word
Look at my affliction,
Giving such misery;
Like a contradiction,
Has me in slavery.
I remember the Laws,
Not forgetting what taught;
But look at all these flaws,
Like a criminal caught.
Please give me a new life,
While I plead my case;
And rid me of the strife,
With all of this disgrace.
The wicked do better,
Having the upper hand;
Nothing by the letter,
Ignoring each command.
Save me from the trials,
Help me on through the night;
And the darken aisles,
To make it to the light.
The acts of compassion,
Showing grace and mercy;
God would never ration,
So the righteous could see.
Only truth in His Word,
That is reaching my ear;
To follow as I heard,
As I respect and fear.
