Father how do we breathe?
This world is corrupt with greed.
I pray you'll forgive me please for the day that I plant a seed.
I'm up early in the morning trying to hustle to get by;
A man with no plan in a land where thousands die.
I don't think I can make it Lord. I hope that you'll carry me.
Make the sky thunder and earth quake when they bury me.
I'm walking around in circles viewing the world through impatient eyes.
Though we walk there are times that we all become paralyzed.
Don't know where to turn, stagnated with crooked thoughts;
A bunch of lost souls trapped in hell, land of the lost.
Taught to play for keeps in the streets and raised as G's
If you had it then we took it. We were never known for saying please.
But I always knew right from wrong, mama taught me that as a kid
That one day I'd grow older and be paid back for all that I did.
I laughed in her face, didn't wanna hear it all at the time.
Now I'm standing here wishing, reminiscing, lost in a rhyme.
Broke without ends; Alone without friends; Staring at the clock, wishing I could only turn back the hands.
If I had wings away I'd fly; Leave words that never die
I beg God with no reply to listen to my soul cry.
