My Stance on the Israeli and Palestinian Conflict

I think that the Israeli occupation of Palestine is wrong and that it is no doubt because of this illegal occupation that Palestinian and Israeli children are suffering. I think it is a grave injustice and that it has a tremendous impact on European and U.S. security. I whole heartedly believe that the Gaza Strip is no less than a concentration camp being utilized by the Israelis in the same manner that they were utilized in the past by the British, the Americans and the "Nazis" in Nazi Germany against the Jews, which highlights the extreme hypocrisy on behalf of the Israeli government. People are living under terrorized conditions, on both sides, innocent people are being executed without warrant (adults and children) and civilians are being struck by bombs manufactured and supplied by the U.S. government.

Within this chaotic region, children are born into the ravages of war, never experiencing the true meaning of childhood. Many fall asleep and never awake, becoming the targets of supposedly misguided rocket and missile attacks. Young men are rushed to the call of duty, brandishing assault rifles and other militia style weaponry without any fear what so ever of the deadly repercussions.

The Palestinian people are being held captive and penned in like cattle, on their own land, enduring economic hardships which have led to health problems and food shortages. The naval blockade around Gaza, which is only about 25 miles long and six miles wide, has become a barrier between the Palestinian people and other Palestinian territories and it has also blocked access to the international community, basic human rights and educational opportunities.

It would be ill conceived to think that the Israeli and Palestinian people don't want peace. As this conflict lingers on it is becoming more and more evident that it is the two governing bodies that preside over these nations, The Knesset and Hamas,(along with international arms dealers)that perpetuate war, continue to fuel the conflict and advocate an escalation in violence.

Nevertheless, it is my firm belief that a truce is attainable but in all honesty, at this moment, it seems nowhere in sight that a peace deal will ever be brokered between these two opposing forces. There has to be a peaceful solution to this crisis but we have yet to see one unfold. Truthfully speaking, I have to admit that if there ever were a solution, the only solution that I would see fit is for the European refugees to end their occupation and return the Palestinian lands back to the Palestinian people. I have to be honest and call things as they are or as I see them. Anything less would degrade my own intelligence. So for the record, I do view this situation as one where we have the oppressed vs. the oppressor. You have one side that has a standing army that's armed to the teeth with modern warfare technology and nuclear weapons backed by a super power and you have the other side that does not have an organized military, throws rocks and uses much more primitive weapons. I don't think you have to be a genius to understand the nature of this situation and to see who has the advantage and who has the disadvantage.

Once again we see that history is repeating itself. The Palestinian people have become the "Native Americans" of the Middle East, first being impermissibly infringed upon, then manipulated at every angle, slaughtered and ousted from their own territory.

With that being said, my plea to the people of Israel, specifically the Israeli youth, is that you search within yourselves and end this tragedy. Correct this error. Do not let your government do what our government did to our native people. I pray that the Israeli children, who are all innocent of these atrocities, free themselves from the chains of contempt and discontinue this gross injustice. Denounce this treachery. Disown this madness and cleanse yourself of this hate filled bigotry. Do not fall into the abyss and become desensitized to this incessant evil.

As for my suggestion, I think that in the name of freedom, in the spirit of freedom and in the very fight for freedom, Israeli and Palestinian youth should rise up together in unity and solidarity to protest and confront one of the most extreme injustices of our time. They should first use the democratic process and demonstrate nonviolently to try and bring about a peaceful revolution. My final suggestion although critics could argue that it is an extremely radical one is that if a peaceful approach fails to yield any results, the people should form a massive uprising, revolt (because freedom is worth fighting for) and take over the occupying Israeli government with Hamas in tow (which is an organization that was funded and supported by the Israeli government to undermine the Palestinian nationalist movement led by Yasser Arafat) and start anew. The people that are currently in power simply cannot be trusted. Israel and Hamas are a classic example of the age old adage, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend, well that is until they no longer serve their purpose. Then they're a terrorist.

My advice is that once the occupying government is removed, including Hamas( although voted for democratically but has since proven to be nothing of the kind) and rightful governments that truly wish to protect and represent the people are set in place, the Israelis as well as the Palestinians should issue each other a formal apology and then seek a peaceful democratic solution. The new Israeli representative government and the new Palestinian representative government should forge a treaty that will further specify the parameters of their new relationship. There should be a new consensus on property designation and land authorization with strong economic support and enablement assured with peace and security noted as the top priority. As a last resort if a consensus cannot reached, the two nations should abide by the pre 1967 border agreement. This will insure that the Jewish people will not become landless and destitute and the Palestinians will have something that is politically acceptable.

The enablers of this treaty should also express that there will be a cease fire agreement that will be acknowledged and adhered to. The Palestinian and Israeli people will together erect an era of lasting peace.

The Israeli government, its loyal military commanders (soldiers) and Hamas should be brought up on war crimes and crimes against humanity.

A deed of this magnitude is possible in the name of freedom and revolution. Until this war ceases and there is a halt to illegal settlements, the world as we know it, specifically the instability in the Middle East, will perpetuate. We all have the power to change this. Here's my dare to you and my ode to Palestine and the people of Israel.

End this senseless violence. End this pain. End this insanity. End this occupation. End this apartheid.

Footnote: Many believe that Zionism is the new Nazism so when we have elected officials in the congress and the executive branch of government say that they are Zionist, what exactly are they saying? I don't know about anyone else but when I hear something like that it makes me wonder just what kind of people are we choosing to lead us and exactly where is it that they're leading us to?
The US needs to stop funding Israel and free itself from this foreign entanglement and also stop funding and arming Israel's enemies. It has also been said that nothing needs to be done to bring about the desired peace between these two nations; that time, the inevitable wave of democratic change and the eventual death of those currently in power will force changes to occur whether they like it or not. Social interaction and acceptance between Israeli and Palestinian youth will become the new reality. A more civil approach over differences will become the norm. And though the older generation will try with all their might to stop this wave of progression and thwart their efforts the youth will push back demonstrating something that has always remained true; that although it may take some time to be realized and many may have to suffer along the way, the revolution for peace and positive democratic change is inevitable. To everyone that believes otherwise you will soon find that you are indeed on the wrong side of history. Finally, if you are a die-hard supporter and advocate of the state of Israel, of all of its actions and everything it stands for, you also advocate a police state. If you advocate Zionism, even if you think it simply means cultural pride and nationalism you must understand that at the same time you are also advocating the occupation and colonization of an indigenous people. Your unwavering support also means that you support apartheid and if supporting one of our allies means that I have to support apartheid then you can count me out. Many of us didn't condone it in South Africa so why are we condoning it now? Why does Israel get a pass? My fellow citizens, this conflict is a very horrific situation that has cost the lives of many people and is negatively impacting the lives of many more as I speak. Someone has to answer for this humanitarian crisis that has taken more than its toll on the lives of  millions in this very troubled corner of the world for far too long. There has to be something done very quickly about this ongoing political problem that like many others was made right here in the USA.
