Not reacting
To it.
I now know
That no poet
Makes poetry
In a bubble.
That even writing
About a world
That isn't
Is a reaction
To what is…
I know that
My references
Are dated…
From my time
From my era…
Youtube
Tweeting
Facebooking…
What will
These words
Be
In 1000 years?
All art is
Dated to its
Days and times
Sandwiched between
What came before
And what came
After…
My poetry is
No different.
I don't live
In a bubble…
But a time
And space
That is
Unique…
Is now
And will
Never be
Again.
Sometimes
I think I am
One of the few
Who realizes
It
Here and now
Enough
To write
It down.
