The Lancean Specificity

Orange California My Hometown

The place my mother pushed me in my pram
In nineteen fifty-five is where I am
Alive with these trees where our memories
Of a prodigy turned prodigal son
Wander now wondering over these bricks
Under this sun on Sunday smiling down
As I wondered in nineteen fifty-six
At one downtown here fifty-six or one
Around the circle as who I was then

I got turned around and forgot my way
But got my way back then in twenty ten
Got back home to stay how today I say
Love turned me around and away from fear
This sundown smiling at one now begun
At this end where my beginning is near
My heart was always here but now the rest
Of who I am is too where I love best
In Orange California my hometown
