The Lancean Specificity

Within

LSD 18-19 November MMXI * for my son Teddy

I used to own a castle in the air
Assigned a mansion all alone up there
By those who had it all figured out for
One of many one without anyone

None told me much beyond heaven or hell
Nor what it might mean for me here between
Though wanting because I was to do well
Do good while I could before it was gone

Given my soul was given taken up
Inducted into spiritual war
Myself given up for an empty cup
On a shelf castled alone in the air

When living for their then and there here now
Is just to do what some church will allow
Me and not do what they tell me not to
Then one way only or else go to hell
To live life disappointed as my due
They make it clear they are not now not here

Just being someone I must be somewhere
Look in new places for a few faces
Who used to own castles too in the air
With traces of shadow light replaces
When it is good then to be understood
To be here and now and not then not there

Not heaven not hell but meaning between
Just being someone and being some more
Nor where I remembered what I forgot
Where it could not hold me since it was not

But what I doubted out there
In the air was in
Myself without a doubt where
I am here within

I prayed God please believe in me
But God said yes I do
And how it is enough to be
Now we know who is true

And so we are a double star
Where one is never two
But two are always one so far
As far as I can see

And God said yes I do believe in me
