Awake in a DreamI awoke in your apartment last night It was cool dark and crisp The blue glow of the television screen lit my way Into your bedroom I walked Perched on the edge of the bed you were playing some game You turned and looked my way Uncertain of why I had returned you stood and walked slowly to me You placed your hands around my waist Whispered softly in my ear Is it forever this time or do you again plan to disappear Not a word I did speak just leaned up for a soft kiss on your cheek I wrapped my arms around you tight held you till the morning light The passion I felt was most enjoyable Only true love could feel that way When dawn broke through the window pane You caressed my cheek and vowed with me forever to stay Promise of love coming back to life I whispered what you so longed to hear I'm yours forever always with you I will be I love you more than words alone could express Rest my love place in time will soon arrive With those words I drifted off When I awoke again I found it was all just a dream Alone in my bed only dreaming of you What I would do for that second chance Time has passes yet again the one you hate no longer in view Only time will tell if true love holds the key Just the thought of another chance with you makes me weak For now I will wait prove what I know to be true One day soon I will be with you For now the dreams keep me alive Wait for the moment when you see the light in my eyes When you know we should be Love for you and who you are Its time my love for you to return my hearts song Weary of the past I know its true I promise and vow never again to hurt you Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
