The Lancean Specificity

Soon

Here they come on their way to go to waste
Offering differing flavors of hate
All of them bitter all of them fearful

Here they are now though a century late
Rough and ready to give us an earful
As though it were a sin to have good taste

The Pharisees are back and here they go
These are pros God knows and no beginners
Who know it all and never knew to grow

But this kind of godly strikes us oddly
When we are the publicans and sinners
Who lose when Republicans are winners

So darkest before the dawn though till then
Soon we will rise from their nightmare again
