'' The Solution Lies Entirely With You ''

Is addiction an illness or an inability to choose?
It all depends on whom you ask,
Listening to one you'll win with the other you'll lose,
But which one wears the right mask?

The outcome of that will entirely depend,
On your personal point of view,
The answer could dictate how you meet your end,
Or maybe start your whole life anew.

Why in Gods name would you want to abuse,
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why?
It's convenient there are others you can accuse,
You can claim they all want you to die.

Responsibility comes from within your own mind,
Those choices are all yours for the taking,
To blame everyone else is just so unkind,
When a good life is there for the making.

Nobody forces us to do the wrong thing,
Yes circumstances can have an effect,
But ultimately you choose what your life will bring,
You know the difference between loathing and respect.

None of us is perfect nor will we ever be,
But we all have the freedom of choice,
A prisoner of addiction or the desire to be free,
Do you want misery or would you rather rejoice.

Addictions are cruel but they all have one aim,
To control but there's so much you can do,
The first step to recovery is to stop laying blame,
