A Mother (dedication) wings2fly2heavenA Mother's Love A Mother's love is something that no on can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . . It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . . It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . . It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . . A many splendored miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. For my beautiful fiance' and dear mother-in-law 'to be' who is knocking on the door to eternity. I had to write something, it's what's keeping me sane tonight. Baby, I'm scared, but I promise to remain strong for us. Marcia, I'm not taking off the cross necklace you gave me, wearing it for you (for always) and you know I love you. Paul my love, this is for you. I did not write this, not sure of the author, but the sentiments are perfect. I lost my mother 10 years ago, and tonight is bringing flashbacks of the night my mother left us. Ah.... the joy that could be felt in her room, it literally had a certain glow, when she said Jesus was at the bedside with open arms. Then the moment came....the world stopped spinning....all went quiet I held her head, as she peacefully went to the Lord. Thereafter, I leaned against the 7th floor hospital window and gazed into the summer night sky. I then looked at the streets below. The traffic lights were so surreal... green (go) yellow (caution) red (stop) and I realized....the world never stopped spinning.. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
