Don`t Grow Up Too Fast.
Your brow is still unfurled
With worry or with care
With lashes gently curled
You`re like an angel lying there
Your cheeks are flushed in sleep
And in dreams you`re far away
Always in my heart I`ll keep
A picture of you this day
You`re only four years old I know
But too soon the years fly past.
Still I shall not be filled with woe
For my memories will last.
Then some day twenty years from now
I`ll smile at you and say
My darling girl the years somehow
Haven`t changed you anyway.
For always in my memory
And forever in my heart
You will mean the same to me
As you did right at the start.
But darling don`t grow up too fast
And never wish your life away.
Too soon your future is your past
And tomorrow is today.
