The Lancean Specificity

Choosing Love

I

And do I dare descend the stair
Do anything go anywhere
Know anybody dare to care
Even though I know I may fall?

Yes for the laughter of it all
If only maybe for the tears
Of yes or no for all those years
Of maybe so now after all

Now though I let it go I know
How what goes down comes up again
As to and fro I come and go
How every time I lose I win

Past it all I rise to claim the prize
Happiness at last to my surprise

II

What money buys instead of happiness is distraction
From unhappiness to the luxury of inaction
When one has something that has to be done but is able
To lay some money down then who keep it off the table

But to make it go away a day or so is to know
Though one pays for delays what has to come will never go
Till when it does then just because whatever has to be
Will be like I have to and you we who do this for free

Unmoneyed undistracted asserted unretracted
Unapologetic energetic in pursuit of
Happiness the hard way with no money and with only love
Enough to give and take for free to our satisfaction

III

So yes I dare descend the stair
Do everything go everywhere
Know everybody dare to care
Even though I know I may fall

Finding myself by losing it
All in the fall excusing it
Letting it go and releasing
It so it comes back increasing

Yes for the laughter of it all
If only maybe for the tears
Of yes or no for all those years
Of maybe so now after all

Hanging on and hoping for the best
Choosing love by losing all the rest
