I held my pillow to me just like you told me to
Trying to imagine that I was holding you,

Lying there face to face
As  you filled the empty space,
Each entwined In the other's arms,
Our little world Free from harm.

When I awoke from a dreamless night
I still held that pillow tight,
As though protected by your care.
I hope one night you are really there.

I hold my pillow to me just like you told me to
Trying to imagine that I am holding you.
