A new day has begun and I am just waiting
to catch the rising sun so that I can capture
all the beautiful colors that will start peaking
over the horizon as the day begins to blossom
along with all the flowers that are in my garden
And I am also looking forward to listening to
the birds as they start singing songs again
Because the air is much cooler and it will
be so nice to see them all being
playful and happy on this early morning
I just hope and pray that it will rain here soon
Because of the horrible drought that we have
been in so that the leaves in the trees and
the grass that is in the sand can remain green
But my greatest wish of all for today is that
all of my friends
and family members will wake up smiling
Like I did in the wee hours of the morning
So that they can also capture all the beautiful
colors that will start peaking
over the horizon as the day begins to blossom
