Alone amid a hundred others
Singles, wives, husbands and lovers
A night to revel within a tight packed crowd
Halloween,
Masks, costumes are a yearly trend
Not one aware of how this night will end
None know of the intent within the recesses of the mind
Hidden deep, no one suspects
Revenge!
A sharpened sliver of a blade
Concealed within a costume in full view
Not given a second thought
Just another person, incognito like me and you
Blending in amongst them,
Dancing to the latest tune
Working her way across the room
The victim in sight
Just need to time the moment right
As she dances and twirls the blade will slice
and she will vanish in a trice
Becoming one with the crowd
Gone the mask, long auburn tresses
dressed, as many others in the customary black dress
A dowdy girl,
Pink-painted nails around a wine glass curl
Stands in pretend shock, surveying the scene
Waiting!
Watching the confusion at the blood stained hand
Pain twists the face
As Death comes swiftly to take its place
Panic, screams!
The blood soaked body slumps to the floor
In the confusion the murderess slips
through the open door
No one stops her,
No one suspects
The Halloween Enchantress
In the little black dress
