Persevered in our Purpose
We are surrounded by samples,
Showing trials and temptations;
That are really fine examples,
For faith building a foundation.
But get rid of everything,
That just might be slowing you down;
Especially sin that can bring,
Distractions and can make you drown.
We run the race that lies ahead,
Never give up to reach the goal;
We must focus on Christ instead,
To keep purity in the soul.
Jesus saw joy in front of Him,
So He endured death on the cross;
Ignored the disgrace that was grim,
With His life suffering a loss.
Then He received and was given,
On a throne next to the Father;
The highest office in Heaven,
And also called our Brother.
Think about Jesus, who endured,
The opposition of the sinners;
So do not give in being lured,
Disqualifying as winners.
Keep on fighting as you struggle,
In this world corrupted by sin,
Christ will help you through the trouble,
As long as you use discipline.
