"Merriment."
Is what Merry meant.
When she let go a laugh of glee.
Merry met with pal
"Joy" and together they exchanged
pleasantries.
Both had laughter in their hearts.
Joy felt trills of it gushing from her soul.
So much that she felt compelled too, to cry aloud:
"This must be what heals the heel in us all!"
Merriment is a boon that
gives us buckets of hope,
when we would have. Hope
to mend the holes in us all.
The daily holes we need mending
that fester from the in to the out.
And holes we have a-plenty.
Why would we care to have a nestful
of sighs. Why not then be zestful?
When with Merry we could surprised and
be so much better and all
the wiser, wise?
Merry tippled her glass on high, then
posed a tinkling jest.
"Wouldn't you, Joy, rather have a
basketful of yolks...and let
the egg on our faces
speak for who we are at our very best?
Why can we not be silly silly?
Why do we take ourselves so very seriously,
seriously?
Life's too long to be meany mean.
So let us drink and honor merriment.
Joining arms and be in gladsome company.
So said Joy and merry Merry.
Singing their none such nonsense song
drinking cups to be un-contrary.
This is for silliness and fun. Have some. And a few puns.
