My heart is an open book
As you turn the pages
The love don't overlook
My life began facing hardship
To save me Mom faced the whip
Then the day I looked skyward
For Jesus to give me the word
And I knew the safety of his love
And the angels circling my world
My mother now is safely up above
There are no secrets for me to hide
For my sins forgiven none to confide
So I leave my diary open unlocked
Those behind share the road I walked
The key is hidden somewhere on the road
For if we share the pages we share the load
And no reason to leave a story untold
We all have stories to share with one another
As in this life we are all just a Sister and a brother
