Poetic-Verses

'' Like Politics It's All In The Spin ''

That fish I bought I cooked it slow,
Suddenly the haddock started to glow,
Why in God's name I'll never know,
I threw it in the bin.

I bought a chicken to cook and eat,
When I carved my lovely meat,
I was so glad I kept the receipt,
It was the colour of paint from a tin.

When I asked for a curry made from lamb,
The meat it tasted just like spam,
I think I've been the victim of a scam,
I'll have to trace it's next of kin.

I always thought pork came from a pig,
Not too chewy or too big,
This one must have worn a wig,
I wonder if it had a twin.

I went to a dinner where game was served,
What I saw had me unnerved,
You'll never believe what I observed,
What type of game has a fin?

The restaurant was gloomy and quite dark,
I told the waiter it looked like shark,
Suddenly it started to bark,
The noise came from deep within.

I found a horseshoe in my dinner,
I exclaimed the chef must be a sinner,
He protested it once was a winner,
I then swallowed a very large gin.

He said I swear I've never told a lie,
But everything from steak to an apple pie,
If you knew the contents you'd surely die,
So let the banquet begin.

You wouldn't complain if it was eat or starve,
Regardless of which meat I carve,
In a greasy spoon or in the Algarve,
You'd just take it on the chin.

Some eat cats while others eat dogs,
Have you tried fried bats or boiled frogs?
Whether it's tasty rats or wild hogs,
Should eating them classed as a sin?

Just what we're digesting we haven't a clue,
If we did we'd probably spew,
It could well be someone related to you,
