 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

THE APPOINTED

angel Pictures, Images and Photos

A Citrine flicker
of a spent candle
dances across four walls

The glow of 3:00 am
and a subtle knock
between the layers
of yesterday and today

Bring her to life

Inward noise comes alive
she weeps in her sleep

A slow burning cigarette
rests upon the edge
of a crystal ashtray

She does not smoke

Light races upon
a glass ledge
teetering

Smoke rings hover
like a swollen halo
above a sinners crown

Inside the middle of it all
the shadow and the soul

They argue and battle

A cloth that wipes clean
the fluids of her inward eyes
belonged to a secret someone
that did not love her

She speaks to her God
in sign language

He never talks back

Inside the silence
footfalls of monsters
surround her identity

She kneels upon a worn floor
facing a corner of her faith
mumbling and rocking hysterically

Tomorrow is here
a glass of water
and society's complimentary pill

The mind has contractions
too much to align and balance

She hums a forgotten lullaby
curls into a human coil
unfolding with the soothing voice
of a welcomed Christ....
