Oor Ane
Thirty-two years ago today
I heard your lovely daddy say
Sweetie we hae got a lass
And fae here she looks first class
Big blue eyes - a knowing stare
Skin like petals and downy hair
Midwife and her are hae`in a chat
Ye`ll git tae see her efter that.
Think I`ll gae and hae a fag
I hae never worked sae hard
That gas and air hae made me smile
Think ah`ll gae and rest awhile.
Cindy-Anna oor wee wean
Chucky, chucky, chucky stane
Ahh that`s it gae Maw a kiss
Glad that ahh wis here fir this
Love yeh darlin` fae ma heart
Know that we will never part
Special lassie, couthie wean
So glad that you are ah oor ane
Fae us both we send oor love
Though your Da`s comes from above
No matter though it breaks your heart
Know that you will never part
He is with you on this day
Told me all the words to say
And from me the words are still
Love you baby, always will.
