The Message Of The Cross

How do we view The Cross?
Just how much does it pertain
To our daily walk of life?
What does its message still contain?

The way we view The Cross
Is so essential to God's plan.
It will cover every step
He has fore-ordained for man.

It isn't just a stepping stone...
It's a permenent location.
It is where we gain the strength
For step by step santification.

Through what the Lord accomplished...
Through the precious blood He shed...
We're restored to God the Father...
We've been sealed for what's ahead .

Some insist on moving forward
To Resurrection and beyond...
And we do but not by leaving
That which forms savation's bond.

Death, burial, and resurrection
Just cannot be separated.
This is the Gospel and each part
Is connected and related.

Of course, the emphasis is on Jesus
It was He they crucified.
The Cross is just a wooden beam...
We focus on the One who died.

When speaking of The Cross
I am referring to the act...
The payment for my sin and yours...
It's a blood bought proven fact

That Jesus Christ laid down His life...
But think of the Father's loss...
For you and me He sent His Son
This message still speaks from The Cross.

~~Dedicated to Terry (Always A Warrior)~~

Galatians 6:14:
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me,
and I to the world.

1 Corinthians 1:18:
For the message of the cross is foolishness
to those who are perishing, but to us who are

being saved it is the power of God.

Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer
I that live, but Christ that lives in me; and the life which
I now live in the body I live through faith in the Son of
God who loved me and gave Himself up to death on my
behalf.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He sent His only
begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life.
