Poetic-Verses

'' Common Sense We Never Applied ''

Witches were once burned at the stake,
Or dipped upside down into a lake,
In these practises they were forced to partake,
Needless to say they all died.

Blacks were once forced into slavery,
A practise we now agree was unsavoury,
An act of cruelty we saw as bravery,
How could we watch as they cried?

The Jewish race faced the holocaust,
Millions of innocent souls were lost,
Into history their murders are embossed,
Yet to some it is still denied.

The extinction of life means nothing to us,
Regardless of species it gives some a buzz,
When we complain they'll say what's all the fuss,
Over chaos we love to preside.

But for what is approaching we are not prepared,
Very soon we'll be running scared,
The damage we have done cannot be repaired,
From Armageddon we can no longer hide.

If you dig out a hole and put nothing back in,
The earth will collapse if you don't underpin,
The Human Race are being led by spin,
Over disaster we're about to preside.

From witches to slavery to wars and disputes,
What one says is good the other refutes,
Greed and destruction are entrenched in our roots,
Human behaviour is snide.

From days gone by Humans thought they knew best,
They believed they were better than all the rest,
The fact is when we were put to the test,
