Writing can be a chore,
Though it doesn't bore,
It will sure take its toll on you,
You tend to forget what went before,
Trying to remember will cause ado.
Whatever you write,
Trying to see the light,
Is a secret you must try to unlock?
By being patient it will shine bright,
Never try to beat the clock.
Before you know,
The words will flow,
Arranging them is your next main task,
Try not to hurry take it nice and slow,
Your masterpiece you'll soon unmask.
Don't print right away,
Leave it a day,
Is the content pleasing to the eye?
Will the wording cause any others affray,
With decency you must always comply.
Don't be afraid,
It's a bit like a trade,
Not everyone will like your wares,
Poets are born they cannot be made,
We tend to like the one who dares.
Those difficult times,
Can produce the best rhymes,
By utilising everything you see,
There's poetry, yes even in crimes,
