Flesh and blood cannot inherit,
As done because of your merit;
And not inherit what decays,
That was tempted and gone astray.
For I tell you a mystery,
That started back in history;
For I am telling you no lie,
As not everyone will die.
But we will all go through a change,
As appearance will rearrange;
To pass in a blink of an eye,
Faster than you could ever sigh.
In a split second at the sound,
Of the last trumpet to abound;
The dead will then come back to life,
Experiencing no more strife.
They will change to live forever,
Tied to God and will not sever;
A new body not to stray,
A body never to decay.
This mortal body must be changed,
For its sinfulness is estranged;
Then all the teachings will come true,
In salvation that comes to you.
For death is turned into success,
In which the Lord will surely bless;
Death is that victory to bring,
Oh death, tell me where is your sting?
Sin gives death its sting and power,
Unknown of the day or hour;
But victory is coming through Christ,
Because of what was sacrificed.
For your faith is your foundation,
Through Christ giving you salvation;
Always excel in what you do,
And to the Lord please remain true.
