Our bodies are made of clay,
And molded for us to obey;
Yet we have searched for a treasure,
That will be giving us pleasure.
For we also have to hold dear,
Within our hearts to hold near;
Which is giving us the Good News,
Along with our right to choose.
This shows the superior might,
If you enter into the light;
That is belonging unto God,
If we truly honor and laud.
In many ways we are troubled,
Crushing blows when they are doubled;
Frustrated but not to give up,
Taste not the poison from the cup.
We are tormented but not forsook,
By all ridicule that we took;
Through the years of our belief,
Never seeing any relief.
We were captured but not yet killed,
All because the Lord has instilled;
Perseverance unto each breath,
That we carry until our death.
For we carry the death of Christ,
And the way He was sacrificed;
So the life of Jesus is shown,
In our hearts upon His throne.
And we are alive for His sake,
Our clay is molded to make;
And show our mortal nature,
Transformed into a new creature.
So death is at work deep within,
Because the temptation of sin;
But life also at work in you,
If your survival remains true.
