'' Nuclear Weaponry Means Death ''

Would you buy a gift?
Where death is swift,
Then leave it in a corner to rot,
Giving no pleasure just causing a rift,
Costing billions what is it you've bought?

It will lie for years,
Causing constant fears,
This is something you can never destroy,
One day it will bring the world to tears,
If this gift someone decides to deploy.

You may well scoff,
But if it ever goes off,
There'll be no cure to be found,
It will cause more misery than a cancerous cough,
The devastation will be profound.

There is a thirst,
To see who fires first,
Thereafter comes retaliation,
We really won't know which one is worst,
As all alive will face devastation.

This thing we buy,
Is our government's lie?
They lay claim it is just a deterrent,
In terrorists hands this doesn't apply.
They well know the meaning of errant.

It's real not fake,
Our ultimate mistake,
Will ensure we all take our last breath,
When fired the entire planet will bake,
