The dying poetess By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
She stays well-hidden within her burdens
As tepid drops of salty water leak
From her mascara smudged eyes
Staring recklessly into the mirror
She has been labeled by the presumption of a troubled past
Her endless hope strangled by her inner demons
Who constantly whisper the most euphonic absurdities
That feed her internal doubt and self-hatred
That has been instilled by the wretches of humanity
She lies quietly drowning in her own tears
The stitches of her over used heart unravel and split
As she is utterly consumed by the sickening darkness
Ingrained into her memory
The hurt and anger erupting
Like thunder on a humid summer night
The only weapon she needs is her pen
