We stare intently
My hopeless demeanor against the one eyed glare.
There is no contest in this
I lose everything,
Or is it a win?
An escape?
Relief?
Pulse racing, thoughts raging
Dreading with excitement any sudden movement.
My words are meaningless in comparison.
Am I a bigger man?
Do I walk away?
My cries are soft and gentle,
The opposition has a loud and final voice.
But who is the opposition?
Is my own opponent myself?
Devil and angel who wins?
A view now distressed and more in tune
The clock on the wall says 6:23,
This could be the day I lose, the day everyone else wants to forget.
Sitting
Waiting
Wanting
Hurting
Staring.....
