The winter queen By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
She gazes out her tower window
At the freshly fallen velvety white snow
Icicles hang from the frozen boughs of dormant trees
Glittering likediamonds on fire
She wears the palest of blue eyes
And her icy white hair flows out behind her
Like that of a wedding shroud
Tiny snowflakes whisper
As they flutter around her frosty hair
Her crystal palace atop glorious snow-capped mountains
Her throne carved from the ice of the bluest glacier
The great frosted walls impenetrable
The floors like that of a smooth frozen lake
Her eternal ice covered sanctuary
Tiny designs traced on frozen surfaces
With her delicate frigid fingers
Turning pools of water into reflective surfaces
That would resemble a frosted mirror
With just a single wave of her hand
She travels mostly at night
With thesilver winter moon her only guide
Her sled glistens in the frost bitten darkness
Leaving a lengthy path of ice crystals in her wake
Some might say that her existence
Is nothing more than a raw winter curse
Where others believe she lives to be the gift
Of brand new snow white beginnings
