Walk with me By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
My eyes would glisten at the sight of you,
with the deep desire of feeling once again
the warmth of your hands surrounding my own fingers as we interlock ours together
everything about you and the words you'd say would scatter inside my headspinning around and they cannot get out they won't leave
I would fall asleep to the thought of you and wake up scared. too scared. with the fear that you're already sick of me
scared thinking that you'll leave me
even though you were someone that made me feel so safe
made me feel so loved and made me feel beautiful
but I'm sorry that I keep slamming the doors you always left opened for me
and I'm sorry that the anxiety never left and sorry that I break attachments once they are formed
sorry for shattering the glass barriers that once made me feel safe
sorry for leaving the pieces on the ground
letting you walk the path barefoot
with all the sharp edges piercing through your tough skin as you remain numb
but in the end i don't understand
why you'd hold still
and walk this path with me
