I am the heart breaker
who's heart is now broke
I'm the one who let go
when I should have held on to the rope.
I thought I could do better
found out it's not true
I've looked all over
no one's better than you.
Every day I think of you
this simply should not be
I'm the one that suffers
mean while you're over me.
I should have held you close
took the time to see
all that you are worth
instead I set you free.
Full of regret heart ache
and pain
You're living in the sun shine
while I'm drowning in the rain.
Every one who's loved
but the love was not returned
who's given their all
and ended up burned.
Wishes these words
were spoken by their lovers
hope that they regret and
will never recover.
We imagine it at night
as we lay in bed to sleep
So we may get some rest
and not just lay and weep.
but the bitter truth
is that they simply do not care
they move on to the next one
while we wallow in despair.
The best we can do
is accept it and find a way
to move on with our lives
a little more each day.
Perhaps they're not bad people
it's just the way things have to be
maybe God has plans for us
we simply can't yet see.
there may even come a day
when every thing is clear
in the arms of your new love
as you fight to hold back tears.
cause you realize that this
was God's plan all along
you had to have the heart ache
to make you wise and strong.
Now your cup it runneth over
never to be empty again
you found more than just a lover
you've found true love and a best friend.
