A big rain By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
I love the big rain,
The deep pouring rain,
The long drips of water,
From the roof,
I always have, big rains,
And the lightning and thunder, too.
And I love that it can stop everything, too.
When it becomes too much,
When it swells and we all have to pause
Our days and think differently
About what to do.
I love the disruption.
Big weather is that power,
The creative mind,
Changing the landscape,
Making things new,
Beautiful in its awesomeness,
Terrifying in its change,
Uncertain in its effect.
True to its way in Nature,
About how life works,
Yet nothing about it is good or bad,
It just is the way it is.
Something awful and wild and free,
That you hope never meets you or your family,
Yet in your dreams and your writing,
In your artistic ambitions, whatever you do,
Being honest, you hope it consumes you,
And makes you like a natural disaster,
That changes the lives of millions.
Dangerous all the same; beautiful all the same.
And sometimes just like a heavy rain,
In a hot dry place, necessary and needed and craved.
A reminder that big weather hangs over us always
In life and the creative mind.
Just to shake things up.
