She stands there
Silent
Her chest pressed up against the guardrail
The water churns and rages
Far below her quivering feet
She grasps the metal
Cold
With an equally cold hand
Shuffles a bit forward
Her heart pounding in its cage
Thinking of everyone
Them all
All those who didn't give a damn
Her mom and dad and brothers
Like some plot to kill her inside
Now the water awaits
Ominous
She puts her leg over the rail
Closes her eyes and takes the leap
But a gentle hand pulls her back
