You saw me in the garden
tending flowers in the sun
the day was warm, the breeze
was cool, it was a splendid one.
You watched me as I weeded
round the beds down on my knees
we chatted as I toiled along, you
smiling merrily down at me.
The wind chimes toned a melody,
the birds they chirped a song
the blossoms bobbed their rosy heads
as afternoon shadows grew long.
The backyard fence screened
the two of us from any prying eyes
as twilight promised soon to fall,
your kisses brought me to sighs.
Your lips fell on my sun-warmed nape
as you brushed aside my hair, then
you laid me on the lush, green grass
your hands moving everywhere.
Never before have the flowers seen
what they beheld that glorious day,
the day you loved me in the sunshine
and we whiled our time away…
(WAH...Merci for the dreamy inspiration!)
