A Mother's Cry
A mother's cry...
To all the children who
have flown away
Leaving her behind alone
to wither away
Wither away in poverty and
utter helplessness
To fend for herself in this world
filled with selfishness
The mother who bore you for
nine months, long
Nursed and nurtured you through
childhood, all along
Without giving any thought for
her own discomfort
Always worried and caring
about your comfort
A mother's heart cries that you
always remain comfortable
That there is always enough
food on your table
Just find time and think of her
once in a while
Just that thought is enough
to make her smile
To all the children who
have flown away
Leaving her behind alone
to wither away
Wither away in poverty and
utter helplessness
To fend for herself in this world
filled with selfishness
The mother who bore you for
nine months, long
Nursed and nurtured you through
childhood, all along
Without giving any thought for
her own discomfort
Always worried and caring
about your comfort
A mother's heart cries that you
always remain comfortable
That there is always enough
food on your table
Just find time and think of her
once in a while
Just that thought is enough
to make her smile
