The Little Stream

A natural stream flowed in the
deep woods stealthily
It's banks choked with thick
vegetation of variety

Absolutely unapproachable to
any kind of intrusions
Only fish, frogs, birds and bees
were it's companions

Hidden from the human eye
for time unknown
It enjoyed a total sense of
privacy of it's own

Till one day the buzz-saws and
bulldozers arrived
And the woods were chopped
down and cleared

A huge chemical factory stands in
that place, someone's dream
And a cesspool of chemical waste
our poor little stream

Birds and bees have flown away
from there long back
A few fish and frogs are seen
floating on their back
