Sorrow and Search

It’s a Pair of Lemon Ducklings!

I don't intend to publish a book so "early".

Both my reading and writing are still very green.

It’s my old wife wants to return to our old home eagerly.

So I have to bite the bullet and wrap up my paper and pen.

Because the set deadline and must move on date,

the publisher simplifies his work and hastens its publication.

Feeling really losing face and quite contrary to the former aim,

The author must bite the bitterness and gulp down the fury and pain.

Someone may ask:

Why are you here now,

beating drum and gong, waving flags and cry?

Are you shamelessly selling it by yourself

and want us to congratulate you with lie?

No matter it’s bad or good,

publishing a book, or some words,

are usually regarded as a valuable thing.

Whether it’s a male or female,

expecting and giving birth,

are always worth celebrating.

I see the Americans,

when a baby is born,

they’d set up a banner

in front their doors,

printed on them

are big words:

“It’s a boy!”

or “It’s a girl!”

They don’t want

everybody may come to offer

his gifted gifts and sweet words.

They think it’s a friendly gesture

to let the neighbors and friends know

and share the joy of their long time effort.

There is no need for me

to beat the drum and gong

or set up a banner and holler!

I just post a poem here,

it can widely and clearly

show my joy and sorrow,

so to solemnly declare:

It's an ugly duckling!
