To my love,
From the moment I met you,
I knew that I wanted you to be a part of my life,
lovers or just friends.
The best things come unexpected,
you were a clear example of that.
I knew that you were too good of an opportunity to pass up.
For the longest time before I met you,
I was known as "the shy female around "
that only opens up to people who she knew
and the reason for that was because time and time again
she was hurt emotionally in the past.
When I saw you, I knew that there was something different about you,
I needed to talk to you even if it meant rejection or just friends.
Taking it back a few steps, the day I met you replays over and over in my head.
The gym just re-opened after renovations and I'm there minding my own business running on the treadmill
and you come along next to me. To my surprise, you introduced yourself as the new trainer,
offering me advice and help if needed.
You may not know but when you left, thats when my whole mentality of "the shy girl" went away
and a new mentality of "just go for it" kicked in.
Me being myself, I still kept in mind that, you are a trainer,
every girl in this gym would kill to be close with someone like you.
With that new mentality, I kept to it.
I started asking you for advice and slowly but surely you started to open up to me,
taking it from me being a "client" to a "friend".
Maybe a month into it, we got really close and thats when everything changed,
from the squats and dead lifts to the Winery and to now,
being stronger as a couple than ever.
These words cannot just be said without that story as it is the foundation of our relationship and
why I fell in love with the man that I'm with now.
Running on a treadmill, you're looking straight..
otherwise you'd fall right ?
Thats when I knew that I fell in love with your personality and your looks were just a bonus.
I heard that in your voice, you genuinely not only cared about me but everyone in the gym.
Yes, I know it's your job but you took it to another level.
Every time someone needed help, you rushed to them with no hesitations.
It didn't change one bit from when we were just friends to what we are now.
Your caring nature makes me love you more and more each day.
You're the reason why my days are so happy.
From the moment we start talking during the day to the moment we say goodnight,
you never fail to make me smile or laugh.
You're everything that I wished and hoped for in a guy
and I am finally blessed with someone just like you.
You constantly tell me that I've changed you and before I met you,
you were a complete mess.
I personally don't care because from the moment I met you,
I didn't know who you were in the past. I fell in love with the guy who was standing in front of me.
The little things you do for me make me feel like the luckiest girl,
the way you look at me, the way you surprise me with little things,
the way you hug me but most of all, the way you hold my hand..
it may seem a bit odd but the way you hold my hand makes me feel so protected
that I can take on the world with you beside me.
You have changed me for the good.
The past is the past but its the past that makes you who you are today
and what you strive to become.
That's why I love you, even though you know every bit of my past,
you never fail to love me unconditionally.
