I Know Most Who I Am When You Are In The Room

for me
words come easily
naturally

a lark doesn't have to make a decision
to take wing
it just flies
and rests when it has the need to

but words aren't coming
easily for me tonight
and there's a need tugging at my wings
keeping me from my rest

I seem to have lost some of my bearings
my heart isn't quite in this moment
I'm high and away
in the blank black desert sky
free-floating from my Anchor
but,
its not the ground I need
its not familiar surroundings
its not the sort of comfortable routine
we know so well

its more than this
its you
the essence
the necessary intangible
I know most who I am
when you are in the room
