THE SIGHTED GIDE'S PRAYERWho holds the hand of the man that holds the blind mans hand, Leading carefully him through the scotch of the days sun? When the blinded soul is laid in the safety of his darkened life Fed and nested in the warmth of handed down wraps Who wades with him the murky sights of the night? His blinded future and his unattended plight? Who says a prayer for the prayer man's needs? His barren nights, sickened spouse and sick kids After knees are long knelt and hands in prayer laid For divine reign over hunger, school fees or pain Of all his flock; known and strangers in the midst Will a heroic fire marshal, after mission Walk to a safer life in his mansion, After the billows of terrific infernos, And the buzz of ambulance siren goes silent Or will he walk into the surprise of an auction Be the one watching the sighted guides Helping them do it with pride And pray fervently for the prayer man But also offer them a helping hand When the fireman comes head bowed May he find a haven in you extra abode (C)Nyasi short forms 22/10/2017 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
