You have followed my teaching,
My conduct and aim in life;
My steadfast love in preaching,
My faith and patience with strife.
Persecutions and suffering,
That has happened unto me;
But Christ has been buffering,
Endure with insight to see.
All who desire to live,
Godly lives in Jesus Christ;
A persecuted captive,
A lifestyle sacrificed.
While evil imposters,
That will go from bad to worse;
Consider them deceivers,
Through Satan has caused a curse.
Continue what you have learned,
And you have firmly believed;
The salvation you have earned,
And that you justly received.
Since childhood you have been,
Known about the Holy Word;
The wonders that you have seen,
And from witnesses you heard.
They have made you very wise,
Through your faith for salvation;
Of Jesus Christ through your eyes,
Building you a new foundation.
All Scripture breathed out by God,
Profitable for teaching;
Another would be a fraud,
Never attempt for reaching.
For reproof and correction,
For training in righteousness;
Brings you a new connection,
For God and His blessedness.
The Man of God be complete,
Equipped every good deed;
That Satan you can defeat,
In helping you to succeed.
