 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove
When you sit down to eat,
Be careful what is there;
Especially the meat,
And cutting it with care.

God gave an appetite,
Not a knife to your throat;
Never for holding spite,
But praise God as you gloat.

You should not desire,
Any delicacies;
Deceptive food dire,
That cause iniquities.

Do not toil for wealth,
Discerning to desist;
Think of spiritual health,
For Satan you resist.

When your eyes light on it,
Suddenly it is gone;
It sprouts wings from merit,
Flies off at light of dawn.

Flying like an eagle,
Up above towards Heaven;
Appearance as regal,
Through faith and hope given.

Eat not the bread of men,
A man who is meager;
Do not crave his treats when,
Dainty meats as vulgar.

For he is like the one,
Is inwardly scheming;
His heart has not been done,
An evil eye beaming.

For you will vomit up,
Morsels that you will eat;
Since poison in your cup,
Makes you fall off your seat.

The Redeemer is strong,
As He pleads for your cause;
By righting any wrong,
Healing of any flaws.
