Who is there to harm you,
Zealous for what is good;
Distorting what is true,
Not doing as they should.
Though if you should suffer,
For your righteousness sake;
Christ will bless and buffer,
Trouble enemies make.
So, have no fear of them,
Nor be troubled in strife;
Because God will condemn,
Evil they do in this life.
Honor Christ in your heart,
Being Lord as holy;
Ensuring you impart,
As the one and only.
Prepare to make defense,
Anyone who asks you;
Calling it an offense,
Disrespect what is true.
For the faith and the hope,
Respond with gentleness;
Remember as to cope,
Calming their bitterness.
Having a good conscience,
When someone would slander;
By keeping your patience,
While they meander.
Those who may revile,
For your good behavior;
They try to defile,
Jesus as your Savior.
To suffer to do good,
Better than make evil;
Will of God understood,
Not work for the devil.
Resurrection of Christ,
Who has gone to Heaven;
For us was sacrificed,
For salvation given.
