Bless the Father of our Lord,
The Father of mercy and grace;
Who is honored and adored,
Gives the comfort from His embrace.
He comforts us from affliction,
So that we may comfort others;
Helping us through an addiction,
Any other thing that bothers.
As we share in the suffering,
We share abundantly in comfort;
For Christ is our buffering,
Of the things we try to divert.
Whether we would be afflicted,
Needing comfort and salvation;
Endure even when restricted,
No mater of the vexation.
Our hope for Christ is steadfast,
For we know He shares suffering;
His comfort will forever last,
When it all seems bewildering.
For I want you to be aware,
How we are utterly oppressed;
Christ gives us strength when in despair,
That He has spoken and impressed.
I have felt that we had received,
In ourselves the sentence of death;
But trusting in God we believed,
He has given us a new breath.
God has raised up Christ from the dead,
Delivers us from that peril;
The body and blood we are fed,
Makes us spiritually sterile.
You have to assist us by prayer,
For the gift that has been bestowed;
The blessings granted that we share,
Eases the burden of the load.
