This I say and testify,
That you must no longer walk;
As the Gentiles might try,
The futility through talk.
The understanding darkened,
Alienated from the Lord;
Ignorance not harkened,
Because Heaven is ignored.
Due to their hardness of heart,
Since they have become callous;
Desires will not depart,
Because of impure malice.
But that is never the way,
About how you learned from Christ;
You were taught how to obey,
Letting not you be enticed.
Assuming that you have heard,
And been taught about the truth;
Because if you know the Word,
For studying since your youth.
Of your old self throw away,
Which is from a former life;
Corruption that made you stray,
Desires that caused you strife.
For deceitful desires,
Comes from the carnal mind;
Distortion that acquires,
Making your heart to go blind.
Renew your spirit within,
Letting a new self-mature;
As God gives you discipline,
Allowing your ills to cure.
Reflect God with righteousness,
With bearing a resemblance;
Created in holiness,
For a blessed assurance.
