God is our refuge and strength,
A real present help in trouble;
To persevere at any length,
For rescuing from the rubble.

We fear not though the earth gives way,
Though mountains move into the sea;
Its waters roar throughout the day,
Mountains tremble at His decree.

There is a river that makes glad,
In the city of the Most High;
The holy habitation had,
Never hearing anyone cry.

God is in the midst of Zion,
He will help her when morning dawns;
Protecting her from the lion,
Who uses the people like pawns.

Nations rage and kingdoms totter,
God utters His voice, the earth melts;
People fear as it gets hotter,
As fire and the brimstone pelts.

The Lord of Hosts is among us,
Knowing God is our fortress;
For He is a refuge as thus,
Giving comfort when in distress.

Behold see the works of the Lord,
With desolations on the earth;
Giving everything to afford,
Allowing to share all its worth.

He makes wars to end on the earth,
And breaks the bow, shatters the spear;
He gives each of us a new birth,
When we show honor and revere.

Be still and know that He is God,
To be exalted by heathen;
Every knee shall bow as to laud,
And gain access unto Heaven.

The Lord of Hosts is among us,
Knowing God is our fortress;
For He is a refuge as thus,
Giving comfort when in distress.
