Sense AbilityIf I look at you Will your green eyes Gaze back deeply Into my brown ones And really see me For all that I am? If I hear your words Will what they express Tell me Without hesitation You have been Really, really Listening To all I had to say? If I come close enough To breathe in The scent of you Will your own breathing Be quickened By the fact You are also aware Of my perfume And that we are now Sharing the very same Air? If I kiss you once Ever so gently While standing on tiptoes Just so to reach you Will you smile again And say as before How good You think my own lips Taste? If I touch your hand Will you take mine Like always Until arms become entwined In Love's embrace And the only Sense left To explore Is the Sixth Sense of Knowing Intuitively Without any doubt Somewhere Somehow Someone Has written This story was meant To be? Quietly, your heart Body Soul Answers yes. In a Sense And Innocence We are one... Completely At peace. Pat Reeves (c) May 15, 2003 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
